Ravio dressing as a rabbit can possibly be a reference to Bunny Link from A Link to the Past.It further hints at his intentions of stopping Yuga and Hilda, and implies that he used the remaining magic in his bracelet to travel to Hyrule, explaining why it did nothing until Yuga turned Link into a painting with the bracelet on. Suddenly an earthquake rocks them to the ground, startling them both. In Hero Mode, Link can find his journal that was left at the Vacant House. In Lorule, Hilda and Ravio have not moved. Given the rabbit-like hood that Ravio wears, it is possible that he is a masked follower. He instead traveled to Hyrule in hopes of discovering a hero who could stop the pair, and so ended up assisting Link in his journey.įollowing the defeat of Yuga, Ravio convinces Hilda to stop her plans. Not agreeing with the plan, he hoped to stop them but due to his nature, feared he could not stop the duo. Ravio learned that Hilda was planning to steal the Triforce from Hyrule with the help of Yuga. He has pale skin, black hair, and green eyes but in other respects appears identical to Link. At the end of the game, it is revealed that Ravio is Link's Lorulean counterpart. As the game progresses, Ravio converts Link's house into his personal shop. Ravio claims to be a traveling merchant and convinces Link to let him stay in his house. Link first meets Ravio after his first encounter with Yuga at the beginning of the game. Very comfortable costume, either way! Construction-wise it was pretty mediocre, but it photographed well and most people who saw me couldn’t see the errors.Spoiler Alert! This section describes a subject that is sensitive to plot development. The backing was painted with green nail polish for that green color. The scarf was sewn together with blue and dark blue fabric, and the gem was made by resin-casting a rupee-shape out of a cardboard and plastic mold. The fabric over it was paint-stitched in through the mache base, and the ears were held up with wire and stuffed with teddy bear stuffing. The mod podge really made the shape flexible and durable, so I thought it was a good choice in craft glue. The hood shape was made by mod-podge paper mache-ing a giant 21” balloon. The belt was made from a faux leather that’s similar to the kind you see in car interiors. The robe itself was decent in difficulty there were a ton of random patterns and tutorials online. Ravio’s cloak was a bit more difficult to make. (Which, in hindsight, was a horrible idea! it took FOREVER to dry!) Parts of the belt and the crown were made with varying layers of craft foam and gold paint. The links were pretty much the same, except I used craft foam as a base. I gave it a glaze of mod podge once that was set, and painted it gold. I covered it in paper clay, sanded it down, and added more to decrease the number of lumps and bumps. The shoulder armor and links were made with paper mache with a large 21” balloon as a base. The pattern was painted on with fabric glue, which was easy with a small and sturdy brush. I wasn’t super familiar with how to make it fitted around my chest, so it came out a little baggy. ![]() I couldn’t find a real pattern online, so I had to sort of do some guesswork to figure out the way it should be cut. It made the skirt a little smaller than it could have been, but it was also the easiest pattern to throw together. I made the skirt based on a regular long A-line skirt pattern. She held her staff with a rigid grip and her cheeks glistened with tears. The howling wind had ceased, and a solemn hush fell over the realm, only interrupted by Princess Hilda's muttered prayers of praise. After Link fails to stop Yuga from abducting Seres from the sanctuary, Ravio saves him and brings him back to his house. Sunlight broke through dark clouds, illuminating the ruins of the once desolate Sacred Realm. Ravio is a mysterious merchant and supporting character in A Link Between Worlds. He helped Princess Hilda to see her mistakes, and to end her attempt to steal Hyrule's triforce. He also helped Link on his adventures after the sages were abducted by Yuga (Ganondorf's Lorule counterpart). He is described as the Lorulean counterpart of the main protagonist Link. I broke it down into pieces I needed to make: skirt, tabbard, belt, shoulder armor, cape, and crown. Princess Hilda is the princess of Lorule in A Link Between Worlds, both Zelda and Hyrules counterparts respectively. Ravio is the Lorulean counterpart of Link and the deuteragonist of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. This was my biggest costume I’ve tackled! It was definitely intimidating for a new cosplayer like me, so I had to make sure I went in knowing what I was doing.
